Fancy something light, refreshing and fun in this hot weather? Take a trip through the grocery section of your grocery store to see some of the funky fruits you can miss on a normal day. Life is good – why do not you treat yourself?

7 Tropical fruits trying this summer

1) Jackfruit, Southeast Asia (especially Bangladesh, Sri Lanka)

Jackfruit is a large, pale-colored, brooding melon. Cut half in half and you'll find it full of edible, starchy seeds that are trapped in irregular lumps of yellow meat that can be eaten raw, cooked, dried or pickled. Its taste is slightly sweet and nutritionally an excellent source of potassium and B6. Otherwise, a 1

2) Guava, Mexico / Central America

Guava are small green fruits with bright pink pulp. You should be beautiful and mature when you enjoy them; They get brighter when they're done. One serving provides 40% of our daily recommended vitamin C level! Quarter and eat raw, add to a smoothie, squeeze them in water or seltzer, zest skins for stir-fry or vinaigrettes, or in a salad.

4) Dragon Fruit (Pitaya Cactus), Mexico / Central America

Dragon Fruit looks like a Pokemon app. Fiery light pink with yellow spines, the inside is pale white with tiny black seeds. Cut it in half and use a spoon or a melon baller to scoop up the sweet, crispy flesh and seeds (which are both edible). A three-ounce serving of dragon fruit (about one palm full) contains about 100 mg of calcium – about 10% of our daily recommended value. It is sweet and slightly mild in taste, similar to a pear. Enjoy it alone, as a star in a fruit salad, part of a smoothie, a little sweet on a hearty cold side salad or diced for a salsa.

5) Rambutan, Southeast Asia (esp. Indonesia, Malaysia)

These small hairy miracles look like sea urchins and appear reddish or brown in color. The peeling of the fruit shows white flesh that is sweet and reminiscent of grapes in texture and taste. Rambutan is rich in manganese; a typical serving is 2-3 peeled and rawly enjoyed.

6) Horned Melon (Kiwano), Africa

This beauty becomes bright yellow-orange and prickly when seen. Cut it lengthwise and you will find sweet, mild, green seeds in it that you can spoon out and eat raw. Horned melon is rich in vitamin C and magnesium.

7) Passion fruit, South America (especially Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina)

Passion fruits are small, round and reddish in color. Look for ripe fruits that are slightly wrinkled to know that it's done. His flesh and seeds are edible; cut in half and scratch out the insides.
