I do not believe in birthspecific problems that are complicated by complicated movements that are often not used by beginners Not to mention that you are repeatedly knocked down as fast as you can by nature is a stupid idea. Why would anyone do that?

Most people who disagree with me are strong, athletic individuals ̵

1; and I'm sorry, but mine The arguments are not against you, I'm not talking about the wild CrossFitter or the former Trackstar who just now like to exercise. I'm talking to an average person with average fitness. If you are trying to lose weight, feel better about your body and get to know the specifics of exercising, you do not have a burpees business. Why? Because this group of individuals often has the riches quisite power and agility to perform the movements properly, which increases the risk of injury unnecessarily. Just take a boot camp or group training class where one instructor has over 50 people, all at different levels Fitness levels are dropping and 20 burpees. It is terribly worthy. For most people, 18 of these 20 burpees are in a terrible shape because no one tells them not to bend or modify their backs when they feel they have too much stress on their shoulders and so on.

And let's be clear, I'm not saying that these people are fragile or that burpees are as risky as a maximum deadlift. I say, If the goal of Burpees is to increase heart rate, there are literally a million safer and more effective ways to achieve that goal. I think many people equate fatigue with a good workout. Burpees embody that. People like to smoke in the middle of training. A couple of burpees in and, you feel like your heart is pounding, you're sweaty and out of breath. It creates an illusion that you do something. But to get the cardio effect, you have to do it in higher repetitions and at an accelerated pace, and there are people who do that, who do not have the freedom to move properly. It's just the wrong tool for the job and the risk outweighs the benefits. (Overtraining? Here are 9 reasons why you should skip your workout.)

Nevertheless, some will argue that burpees are a "functional" movement – that you will fall in life and Burpees will help you to learn back up again , TBH, this reasoning makes no sense. I do not think you should practice the repeated falling. It's like saying football players have to train every day as they get hit on the court. Or save daily with a boxer as they do it in the ring. But all of these athletes will tell you that building stronger strength and strengthening your body to prepare you for the inevitable is far more efficient with safer training methods. Why do you endanger your body when you do not have to? (Try these three representatives instead.)

Now I know it makes no sense to talk about something without an alternative. As someone who is a pedagogue and personal trainer and works with people fighting to improve their health, I want you to know that there are many alternatives to burpees that promise the same results. Pretty much every cardio machine, think rowers, Versa Climber, stair climbers – will do the job. Of course, sprints will never disappoint. If you do not have access to equipment, body weight circuits are also a great alternative for increasing your heart rate. Literally perform all other cardio-based workouts as Burpees and you're probably better off.
