What happened to Kate, Ashton and Tanner?

As summer draws to a close and people long to go on vacation, they had no chance of doing it Under deck– But if there’s one season that has the most fans, it’s the seventh season of the franchise.

You’d think the series moving to Thailand for the season might change how it works. No. The fans were shocked by the behavior of the men on the crew (apart from Captain Lee, of course), the gas light on relationships and the surprising tantrums of the top yachties. But the fans are also wondering what happened to our epic crew after filming.

Did Abbi ever get married? After the show, is Tanner still trying to date female stews from the motor yacht Valor? And most importantly, Kate ever Are you coming back to the franchise? Well, we have some answers, and let’s just say they all seem to do straight nice post show.

Kate Chastain

As a fan favorite of the franchise, Kate got into Valor, ready to work hard for friend / boss Captain Lee and not take prisoners for her coworkers’ behavior. At the end of the season, it was clear that she needed to step back from sailing and take some time to care for herself.

Unfortunately for everyone Under deck Fans, shortly after the season finale aired, Kate announced that she was leaving the show and now focused on working ashore (and appearing lately too Below deck Med Follow with your own comment). We will definitely miss her, but it’s nice to see her taking her life back!

Simone Mashile

When the South African beauty stepped on board as the second stew, the fans were shocked at her grace and dedication to getting to know the inner workings of the interior. She may have had a love affair with Tanner, but she left Thailand on good terms with the rest of her crew members.

It looks like she’s been back at sailing and working in Europe since the season aired (and probably very happy Not work with Kate again).

Courtney Skippon

We got Courtney. When she wasn’t helping on deck, fans tuned in to watch the third stew with deckhand Brian tackle an intricate bootsmance that later collapsed. She left Valor with a new sense of personal pride and was ready to continue her career in sailing.

While she and Brian are no longer together, it looks like Courtney has taken advantage of the quarantine and is currently taking a break from sailing in her home country, Canada.

Kevin Dobson

The New Zealander was very busy when he became head chef at Valor. While his dishes looked beautiful, his controlling behavior of the galley (and the interior that worked in it) made it a little uncomfortable to watch. Fans may have a hard time forgetting his phallic food creation at the end of the season.

It’s hard to tell what Kevin has been up to since the season as his social media accounts are currently private to most. We could only hope that on the next boat he would make more good food, spend time with his daughter, and learn his lesson in dealing with his staff. (We bet this season won’t be the last we’ll see from Dobson, either.)

Ashton Pienaar

While fans were initially excited when Ashton returned to the series as Bosun, they had over the course of the season very different thoughts about his behavior towards the female crew and Captain Lee. Let’s just say he left the boat on bad terms and the fans had bad taste in their mouths.

Since the season he seems to have taken the time into quarantine to enter the world of fitness coaching with his company AP Elite.

Rhylee Gerber

We don’t know about you, but we were thrilled to see a confident Rhylee again Under deck as Abbis replacement. Unfortunately for her, Ashton clearly had it out for her, abandoning every chance he had and not letting her prove her worth and skill as an experienced deckhand. She finally left Thailand at the end of the season with her head held high.

At the moment it seems like she is taking some time ashore, but it probably won’t be long before she is the captain of a fishing boat in Alaska.

Abbi Murphy

Abbi may only have appeared on the series for a few episodes, but that’s because she decided to follow her heart and leave the Valor crew to go live with her fiancé in Greece. Among the disappointed? Ashton, who had definitely fixed his gaze on the deckhand before she jumped the ship.

It seems like her decision was worth it as she is currently married to the man she left for. She is also a yachtie!

Brian de Saint Pern

Fans weren’t sure which was worse: Brian’s controlling nature or how he became Ashton’s lackey for misogynist behavior towards the female crew members. He might be a good deckhand, but his interpersonal skills left a lot to be desired by fans.

After the season aired, Brian seems to be fine and is back in his native South Africa.

Tanner Sterback

When the proud Long Islander wasn’t working on the outside of the boat, he was busy shedding light on his and Simone’s relationship while also trying to bond with Kate. Not so handsome, brother.

At least he seems to be fine; He is back on Long Island and remains safe on land. But could it be fun to see him again for another season, maybe with Colin?

Captain Lee Rosbach

Clearly the best part of Under deckThe Stud of the Sea has only one rule that is constantly broken: “Do not misplace the boat or shame the captain.” He’s tough, fair, and takes care of his crew especially when the deckhands were all trying to boot Rhylee and he held them on for their work ethic. Impressive.

We don’t know if he’s currently operating the next season’s boat Under deck At this very moment (although it probably is) he takes the time to take care of himself like he’s walking to the gym with a mask on. Bravo, Captain Lee.
