In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper – also known as a dermatologist and TLC moderator Dr. Sandra Lee – a patient's pilar cyst burst, which flies out of a patient's head with impressive force. In fact, the rogue projectile shoots out with such force that it rolls to the ground.
In the clip, Dr. Lee made an incision along the length of the cyst and pressed out the growth with her fingers. When the stubborn cyst finally pops out, the marble-like growth immediately rolls onto the floor due to the force.
"This is really cool," says Dr. Lee in the clip. "That was fun!" And the fans agree.
"What the hell ?! That thing blew out, ”commented a fan of the clip. "This has to be the funniest thing ever."
Dr. Lee then shows the patient the encapsulated cyst and slices it to expose its compressed contents. What is particularly interesting about this removal is that hair dye has accumulated in the pilar cyst, which can happen if the patient dyes their hair.
"Put a toothpick in and drop it in a martini," commented one fan. Another fan had other ideas: "Looks like a gnocchi."
Pilar cysts are growths on the scalp that are excess Contain keratin, a protein that makes up your hair and nails. They are benign and usually not painful.
