Until about three hours ago, I never considered Tom Hanks a style icon. But here we are, on the 63rd anniversary of his birth, and with the click of some buttons on Rita Wilson's phone, every Hollywood favorite actor / best friend Tom Hanks has broken new ground in celebrity style.
In honor of his big day, Wilson, his loving wife, posted a photograph of him in the yard, intact boardshorts, a smile and a few hikers on his face, and a cardboard hat in his hand. In this photo, Tom Hanks looks like he's looking at exactly this photo of Tom Hanks.
Apart from Hanksception, the actor, who will soon portray the iconic Mister Rogers icon on the screen, has become a standalone style icon, tying the ends of his white button to the front. With all the context you can gain by viewing a photo, there is no functional reason for him to do so. So that's fashion. So we can do the same.
Do not take my word for it, of course. Twitter is already enthusiastic about the style, which will be introduced in the second half of the summer in no time.
Okay, it's not a rush, there's only one tweet I've just found. But we are very satisfied with the practice. I'm here with Mr. Finger. I feel empowered to tie my button-down shirt without the need for a feature. And you should too. We will call it Hanksing.
You and I and Mr. Finger may not receive the same as Mr. Hanks. It's certainly hard to get boardshorts running in the year of our Lord 201
Go out and enjoy the rest of your summer, my friends. I wish you all the best from Hanksing at your next warm weather event.
