The US Army Physical Fitness Test is a popular challenge in the YouTube community. Bodybuilders and professional athletes alike have problems meeting the functional fitness requirements for basic training. In his latest video, calisthenics vloggers Stan Browney and Arjen Albers take the test – consisting of 2 minutes of push-ups, 2 minutes of situps and a 2-mile run – without prior training.
You begin with the push-up test, which requires a minimum of 42 repetitions to pass (a “perfect” score is 71 or more). The reps must be done with your arms at a 90-degree angle to the floor and shoulder-width apart. If any of them want to take a break at any point, they can only do so in a downward-facing dog position.
Albers first does his push-ups and manages 82, a more than perfect figure. Browney goes next, narrowly beating Albers and doing 83 reps in the allotted 2 minutes. “The first 100 points are there!” Before he goes straight to the second round, he says: the situps.
The PFT requires 53 situps, while 78 or more makes a perfect score. “That was really hard,” says Albers after doing 67 reps in 2 minutes. “I feel it in my quads too; at some point your abs give way and your quads take over.” This time around, Browny falls behind Albers and only manages 66 situps. “I thought the race was going to be the worst, but apparently I did to hope, it’s the situps, “he says.

For the final lap of the test, the 2-mile run, An elapsed time is anything under 3:54 pm, while a perfect score is 13 minutes or less. Albers misses a perfect time at 1:13 p.m. while Browney finishes his run at 1:48 p.m. before collapsing. “Everything turns,” he says. “I literally gave it my all.”
