Last year, there was an explosion in CBD-containing products used as a panacea for pain, anxiety, stress, acne, etc were touted. You can help with sleep by improving your skin and possibly even to overcome this slump at 3 pm. (More: The Best CBD Products for Health and Wellbeing)
One of the best ways to experience the effects of CBD is through your skin, namely through a skin Ahhh-inducing massage: If you are already receiving regular massages ( if you do not, you should start here) should consider upgrading to treatment with CBD products.
Although the technique is usually similar In any other massage, "the main assumption [of a CBD massage] is that it reduces inflammation that causes pain," says Maggy Dunphy, manager of Spa and Wellness at Loma de V ida Spa at La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, TX, offering CBD oil as a $ 20 upgrade for every massage on the menu. "It's getting more popular, not because it's a trend, but because it really works," she adds. Although everyday spots like Massage Envy have not (yet) been at the forefront, many high-end spas, such as those at the St. Regis and The Ritz-Carlton hotels, offer CBD as an upgrade.
To Understand Why, Here's a quick rundown on CBD: It's a cannabinoid compound in hemp and cannabis that responds to receptors in the skin. Through these receptors messages are sent through the nervous system, which bring the body back into balance and mitigate imbalances. What could cause these imbalances anyway? Stress on the one hand, together with the aging. (And by the way, here's the difference between CBD and THC ̵
"The aging process is causing the systems in your body to collapse," says Vanessa Marquez, CEO and founder of CBD Care Garden Denver-based company that manufactures CBD-infused skin care products for spas across the country. "Because of this, there may be an increase in inflammation and an imbalance in your endocannabinoid system, which gives the body CBD."
This endocannabinoid system is actually responsible for the regulation of various systems in the body. That's where CBD comes in, says Marquez. It helps to regulate the immune system, muscle tissue and nervous system as well as the skin. Overall, CBD massages are just another way to support your wellness lifestyle.
However, not every CBD is equivalent. When booking a CBD massage, do not ask the therapist what he or she will use. Products such as lotions and oils made with CBD (BTW, do not miss this list of CBD gifts) may have different efficiencies. Anything called "whole hemp extract oil" (meaning that it is extracted from the whole plant) will be more effective than a CBD isolate (meaning that only the CBD molecule has been extracted), explains Marquez.
One more question is whether the product contains traces of THC. Currently, the national limit for CBD products is 0.3 percent THC or less (to be classified as hemp). Note, however, that even this amount could be found in a drug test, says Chris Elawar, COO of CBD Care Garden, the state-licensed and verified laboratory test to exclude THC in the products.
Finally, it should be noted that more is not always better when it comes to CBD. "Looking for a massage and seeing a 500 milligram CBD product next to a 100 milligram product does not necessarily mean it's stronger," says Marquez. "It's based on the genetics of hemp [from which it was made] which will affect potency."
The only way to really know how strong a particular product is is to have it tested, so it's more practical to try different products in a massage and find out what's best for your body. "It's a bit like a shampoo, you wash your hair and sometimes it's a great product, and sometimes it's not," notes Marquez.
If you are curious about how a CBD massage feels regular massage, the answer is really subjective. Someone might say they felt good, as if they had a massage, but noticed no immediate difference. Someone else could say that he feels a generally heightened sense of well-being and well-being. (Related: Crystal Spa Treatments Are the Newest Beauty Trend You Need to Try)
Dunphy says you would make the most of it if you're in below-average health that day. For example, if you hurt a lot during exercise or even a hangover, you will notice the positive effects of CBD more than on a day when you already feel well. In that case, you do not necessarily need the extra cost of CBD, she notes, but it certainly can not hurt to be interested in taking advantage of the extra relaxation benefits.
For others it has the potential to be quite transformative. People with severe pain or anxiety have even been moved to tears with a CBD massage, says Elawar. "[Clients have] come to us and say," Now I know how my body should feel, "he says. (For your information, here's what experts say about replacing your Tiger Balm with a CBD-infused sports cream.
This means home improvement can continue to address pain problems with current CBD products without visiting the spa, says Marquez, but without the expertise of a licensed massage therapist, you may not be able to reach its full potential the use of products with whole hemp extract for certain complaints or inflammations.
