Pro bikini competitor Raphaela Milagres can be very dangerous when the need arises: Lately, the 26-year-old is practicing "the art of the eight limbs," Muay Thai, the devastating combat discipline that uses fists, elbows, shins, and knees extensively an aggressive development of all her sports activities, which grew up in Minas Gerais, Brazil, an area that includes gymnastics, jazz dance and ballet.

"I moved to Winter Garden, FL, to focus on my athletic career," says Milagres. In the United States, she was much more available for opportunities in the fitness industry and more likely to travel to the competition. The move helped almost immediately as 2018 turned out to be a watershed for Milagres in the IFBB Professional League. She won two titles – the 2018 Governors Cup Pro and the 2018 Fit World Pro – as well as a second medal at the Salt City Showdown in 2018, finishing the year with an eighth place finish at the Bikini Olympia in Las Vegas.
Looking to the future, Milagres has a new destination in mind: a top five target for Bikini O 2019. "I'm working on improvements to my physique, more rounding and maturity of the muscles," she says. "I think I am a hard worker and have good guidance from my coach, Kim Oddo. There are many good girls with amazing potential in this sport – what makes the difference is the commitment and the consistency to move forward.
