But do not be fooled – you can do a lot with a small step. Shaun Ts's new six-week Transform: 20 workout, available at Beachbody On Demand, is the focus of his 20-minute HIIT workout, which burns calories and builds muscle mass.
We asked Shaun to choose Five of his favorite step-ups from Transform: 20 to try.
"The most difficult moves in Transform: 20 are explosive moves, so you really have to focus on the step," says Shaun. "My challenge to you is to make these steps as slow as possible. That way, you can really feel it throughout your body.
Each move is demonstrated by Chip, one of the Train 20 coaches. Run through it a few times to bring the movements down and then try to put them all together for a mini-step workout that will hit the muscles throughout your body.
Linking the squat lunge
"My favorite move is the squat lunge link," says Shaun. "It's so dynamic. You work on your thigh muscles, quads, and glutes simultaneously. "
" My second favorite, "says Shaun," You're training your shoulders and abdominals, and that also tests your agility. "
"This involves many core turns," says Shaun. "It will burn!"
Peanut Butter and Jelly
"This has a bit of power and a lot of control I really enjoy," says Shaun.
Hip rolls to pike high
"I had a difficult time with this move, but it's great for a well-balanced workout," says Shaun. "It's really, really dope."
