Production at Riverdale closed for the day after news that one of its stars, Luke Perry, died on Monday morning.
The report is from Variety which also published a statement by executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jon Goldwater along with Warner Bros. Television and CW:
We are profound sad, when we heard today that Luke Perry died. A popular member of the Riverdale of the Warner Bros. and the CW family. Luke was everything you would hope for: perfectly professional with a huge heart and a true friend for all. Luke was a father figure and a mentor to the young cast of the show. He was incredibly generous and filled the set with love and friendliness. Our thoughts are with Lukes family in this extremely difficult matter of time. ”
