Riverdale Star K.J. Apa shared an Instagram post Thursday night in honor of Luke Perry, who died Monday after suffering a severe stroke.
Perry made a name for himself with Dylan McKay in the classic 1990s television series Beverly Hills: 90210 but today the actor may be better known as Fred Andrews, Archie Andrews, in The CW's Riverdale . Apa, who plays Archie, shared a photo of Perry, along with the caption: "Rest in love bro."
Apa belongs to a series of Riverdale stars who shared their grief in social media.
On Monday the production of Riverdale was temporarily discontinued when news of Perry's death came up. Variety released the following statement by executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jon Goldwater along with Warner Bros. Television and CW:
"We are deeply saddened today as we learn today On the death of Luke Perry, a beloved member of the Riverdale Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you could hope for: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a huge heart and a true friend for all. Luke was a father figure and mentor to the young cast of the series, he was incredibly generous and filled the set with love and kindness ̵1; our thoughts are with Luke's family at this difficult time. "
