You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice! In any healthy diet there is definitely room for a modest portion of fully loaded ice cream, but if you want to be pampered in a healthier and easier way, while still enjoying a delicious frozen meal, we have a recipe for you! 19659002] If you've never heard of a granita, it's an Italian dessert that lives somewhere between sherbet and shaved ice. It's wonderful to make at home because it does not require any special equipment or stirring. And it's great for people looking for a healthier treat as the recipe contains little sugar and dairy and is filled with healthy nutrients thanks to fresh, ripe peaches.
3 ingredient peach granita
yields 1 liter (4 servings)
- 6 ripe peaches, peeled and pitted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- Mix all the ingredients in the basin with a blender. Stir in until the mixture is very smooth.
- Place the mixture in a shallow bowl (a loaf pan works well) and freeze.
- After one hour scrape off the mass with a fork and scrape off the frozen parts to break them open. Do this every half hour until the whole pan is flaky and loose.
