“Ratched” Season 2 – Netflix, Release Date, News, More

As Randle Patrick McMurphy, Jack Nicholson headlined the iconic 1975 film One flew over the cuckoo’s nest. But it’s the person he faces in this film – Nurse Ratched, played by Louise Fletcher – who received the awards. Nurse Ratched is considered the No. 5 villain of all time by the American Film Institute (right behind The Wicked Witch of the West The Wizard of Oz and a few places in front of Michael Corleone by The Godfather), and now a new prequel series called Ratched, Explore how she became what she is in the beloved movie (which, by the way, is now streamed on Netflix).

The series is the latest Netflix offering from Ryan Murphy The politician and Hollywood, and went in a different direction than this ̵

1; more in his direction American horror story and American criminal history Roots with a dark, gruesome history. Sarah Paulson leads the cast as the title character, and familiar faces like Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon, Finn Wittrock, Jon Jon Briones, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Corey Stoll are all on their way to rewrite the origins for the character who first appeared in Ken Kesey’s One flew over the cuckoo’s nest, which was first published in 1963.

The first season of the series consists of 8 episodes, each lasting just under an hour. Like most shows developed under Murphy’s umbrella, a plot that starts off grounded enough eventually finds its way to a grand, flamboyant ending. And once you’ve blown those 8 episodes you are probably wondering if / when a second season is on the way.

Will there be a season 2 of? Ratched?

There should be. Back in 2017, Ratched was the first series Netflix ordered from Murphy (before signing a $ 300 million deal in 2018).;; The streaming giant ordered 2 seasons and 18 episodes straight away The Hollywood Reporter.

However, the season initially ordered does not necessarily mean that Netflix will continue production. COVID-19 has clearly thrown a wrench in things, and that is broadcasting to the television world as well. Netflix had planned a second season for the original series Society and I do not agree, according to Deadline, However, due to COVID-related circumstances, these decisions have been reversed. This has happened elsewhere in the television landscape, including Comedy Central Drunk story (who had already made episodes) and only this week when ABC reversed its decision on the Cobie Smulders / Jake Johnson dramedy Stumptown.

That being said, the star of the show seems to know for sure that the show has a plan. “We have an endgame. The story as we know it culturally has an end,” said Sarah Paulson, who plays Nurse Ratched, in an interview with OprahMag.com. “But so little is known about Mildred Ratched in the movie and the book. There’s nothing about her past. She’s a monolith. It’s almost like she isn’t really a person.”

When will season 2 of Ratched to be published?

That is a much more difficult question. While many shows have resumed production after a long COVID-19 induced delay, it is still difficult to tell where shows are in their level of production. Shows in a network plan like Riverdale, recently went into production with health precautions and are expected to return in a relatively short period of time. Shows like on Netflix, HBO, Hulu. etc can be a lot more difficult, especially given that we don’t know where the show is in preproduction.

We just have to wait patiently for more news. If the show is renewed for a second season, it may take a long time to actually return to your screen.
