Netflix path There is a cast of prominent actors who represent very real space programs – despite the fact that the space flight they undertake is very fictional.
The series is loosely based on 2014 by journalist Chris Jones esquire Article about the year-long mission of astronaut Scott Kelly and cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko to the International Space Program. The main objective was to study the response of both men to prolonged exposure in space (the study was made more reliable by Kelly’s twin brother, Mark Kelly, who stayed on the ground).
The Netflix franchise brings events forward perhaps a decade or two, anticipating the possible conclusions of this research ̵
To this end, the series imagines what a flight crew might look like if humanity embarks on such a journey. in the pathWe see that both the US and Russia (as in Kelly’s escape) play prominent roles in leadership positions. Also in the crew are English, Chinese and Indian astronauts who represent parts of the actual Big Six space agencies: the Chinese National Space Agency (CNSA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) and NASA. (The Japanese space agency JAXA is not represented here.)
That our actors (mostly) have this ethnic background makes sense (even if this somehow implies that Japan has lost the primacy of space travel in the future).
Here is the cast of Netflix path and where you may have seen them before (on earth, of course).

Hillary Swank (Emma)
Netflix may try to call her the least competent astronaut, but Swank is probably the team’s most accomplished actor. She is a two-time Oscar winner (one in 2000 for Boys don’t cry and one in 2005 for Million dollar baby).
Josh Charles (Matt)
Charles is probably best known these days for his role as Will Gardner in The good wife. If you want to feel really old, take another look at the cast of Dead poet society. Yes, Charles was Knox Overstreet.
Vivian Wu (Lu)
Wu has had a long career in American and Chinese cinema. American viewers might remember them The last emperor.
Ray Panthaki (Ram)
The English actor is probably best known as a detective Marcella.
Mark Ivanir (Mischa)
You have probably seen this Ukrainian actor in Barry or Homeland. Or you yelled at yourself in the background call of Duty. His first film was a little movie called Schindlers List.
Ato Essandoh (Kwesi)
Essandoh recently destroyed the science fiction game and appeared in Altered carbon and Stories from the loop. He’s also American – not British.
Talitha Eliana Bateman (Alexis)
Bateman is somehow not the daughter of Julia Stiles. Her recent films include Much love, Simon and Geostorm.
Adam Irigoyen (Isaac)
Irigoyen had his breakout role alongside Zendaya on the Disney Channel series Shake it up.
