NBA star Steph Curry was kept busy in quarantine practicing his basketball drills and making sure his skills were kept up to date. However, the Golden State Warrior is also about keeping your mind sharp, and an important component to achieving that is being an insatiable reader.
In fact, Curry loves reading so much that he has just announced that he will be starting his own book club as part of his Underrated brand, with an emphasis on inspiring writers’ narratives that may be overlooked in the wider cultural conversation. And he wants his fans to get involved.
“I think we all know that reading is knowledge and I want to share with you my passion, this amazing opportunity that we want to launch,”
“I’m working with Literati to start my own book club called Underrated. I will choose a book each month that highlights stories about overcoming the chance and success, amazing authors who may not get the chance and Awareness in the publishing room that others … get ready for some dope stories written by amazing people. “

It is perhaps fitting that Curry would like to use his platform to advocate underdog stories. Early in his college career, he was overlooked by the Virginia Tech Hokies because he was considered too small to play professional basketball. After being recruited by the Davidson College Wildcats, he became one of the NBA’s greatest shooters of all time.
