Lovecraft Country Soundtrack and Music

  • HBOs Lovecraft Land is now airing and in addition to the exciting horror of the show, there is also a soundtrack full of jams.
  • The music ranges from contemporary songs (the show is set in the 1950s) to contemporary pop jams.
  • Here is every song from the Lovecraft Land Previous soundtrack of the first season. We’ll update this story after each new episode.

Part of the fun of the Lovecraft Land Soundtrack is, there’s no hard and fast rule of what you’re going to get. In the first episode alone there is a score (Herschel Burke Gilbert̵

7;s theme from The Jackie Robinson story), a contemporary song by Etta James, a modern hip-hop banger by Tierra Whack, a selection of spoken words from a James Baldwin debate, and even diegetic music as sisters Ruby and Letitia Lewis (played by Wunmi Mosaku and Jurnee Smollett) some soulful live performances in front of a small but enthusiastic audience.

And a soundtrack with so much variety seems to fit perfectly Lovecraft Land, HBO’s show that refuses to fit in a genre box. Based on Matt Ruff’s novel of the same name, the show mostly comes from a horror angle, but also functions as a contemporary historical fiction, with a dash of fantasy, thriller, science fiction and even comedy.

In addition to the songs you can find below, the show also includes an original score created by award-winning composers Laura Karpman and Raphael Saadiq. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The score the two put together was performed and recorded by The Unison Orchestra, a remote online orchestra made up of members from other major international orchestras. Karpman previously worked with Lovecraft Land Showrunner Misha Green as composer for her last show, Underground, and Saadiq is an HBO veteran who works as the music supervisor for the hit comedy series on the premium cable network Unsure. The Lovecraft Land The original score will likely be released on Spotify at some point.

For now, however, keep this page bookmarked as we’ll be updating it with new songs from new episodes of the show every week.
