Internet cha llenges are usually quite lame, do you remember the planking? The less said, the better.
Off and on to be social media, however, blessed with a really cool or witty concept that allows almost anyone with a smartphone and an Instagram handle the chance to get involved in the fun, the latest of which is the #bottlecapchallenge, and if you can pull it off It looks pretty awesome.
The premise is simple, but the execution is extremely difficult Take a bottle, preferably with a long neck and a sturdy screw cap, then throw a recoil to the cap with a light touch To unscrew your foot without forgetting the bottle sounds hard, right?
The challenge seems to have gained momentum as the ACRONYM designer Errolson Hugh posted a video of his successful attempt on Instagram and invited MMA champion Max Holloway to try it next.
After Holloway had mastered the challenge not surprisingly, he passed it on to musician John Mayer.
Mayer slammed the lid off the bottle and then called the van himself, Jason Statham. The actor who is just promoting his new Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbes and Shaw took a break from the junk life to make the concept flawless.
Next, if they accept Statham's provocation: director Guy Ritchie and MMA fighter James Moonstasri.
But these famous guys were not the only ones posting videos of themselves who kicked bottles. The trend picks up on Instagram as everyone tries to get involved. My personal favorite is Muay Thai Champion John Wayne Parr, who used his skills as an elite kicker to make the concept a reality:
Want to do it yourself with the #BottleCapChallenge? Most of these people have apparently used glass bottles with alcohol, but we suggest you grab a sturdy plastic bottle instead if your attempts fail. If you're not a martial arts expert, make sure you have plenty of room in shoes to turn around and recover from your attempt.
