If you’ve been tested for COVID-19, you know the process isn’t exactly a good time. But actor Ian Somerhalder swears he has a way to make the infamous brain swab test more enjoyable.
Somerhalder recently documented his first COVID test on an Instagram video, and he was refreshingly real about the experience while also drawing attention to the importance of being tested for the virus.
“I’m a little nervous,” he says in the video. “It’s like taking a driver test just because of a fatal illness. Strange.”
As Somerhalder says, these are really extremely “strange”
The actor added a pointed comment to his video: “Not the same as fries and a shake …”
Somerhalder then simply wrote “Results: Negative” and added a series of praying hands emojis to show his gratitude for his seal of good health.
Although the experience ended well, waiting for tests was a bit boring by Somerhalder standards. So he used the impromptu Instagram PSA to come up with a suggestion unique Idea to liven things up.

“Idea: What about drive-in COVID tests? Watch a movie while waiting for results, ”Somerhalder wrote in the post. “We do @kissthegroundmovie. Drive-in movies across the country! Win win! ”
It is definitely a unique idea to make COVId tests more attractive – and a brilliant way to casually incorporate the climate documentation in which you appear.
