Exercise may just be your next heart-healthy recipe: Sweaty workouts may be able to lower your high blood pressure just as much as prescription drugs, new research just released in were. British Journal of Sports Medicine suggests:
The researchers collected data from 194 clinical trials focused on drugs to lower systolic blood pressure (the highest in your blood pressure reading), and 197 studies providing data on the Effects of structured exercises such as cycling, running, swimming and strength training.
After the numbers had been compressed, the researchers found that blood pressure was lower in patients with antihypertensive drugs than in those who exercised.
