If Outer Banks only focused on the Pogues, then would you have the Riggins brothers on Friday Night Lights . Given the southern backdrop of the small town ("Texas Forever"), occasional affairs, and a thriller that shuffled under the carpet in season two, it's no wonder why Outer Banks fans come to a show like this one would flow.

When Outer Banks was first released on Netflix, it was clear that the show was one Touch of Dawson's Creek had runs through. Similar to the Pogues, there is another group of working-class teenagers on the show this time, hoping to solve the riddle of a murdered schoolmate to solve. While the show is set at a private school (and also in Spanish), it doesn't mean that its behavior doesn't match the counterparts of Outer Banks .

A group of minors trying to start an adventure and solve a puzzle? Adults who are shady? Cliffhanger ends? It's no wonder why people want this Netflix smash.

Bloodline

Playing in the Florida Keys and showing greats like Ben Mendelsohn, Bloodlines three seasons show all the classic tropes, as in Outer Banks – family, mystery, murder and economic division between classes. And don't forget the battles on the boats!

The adrenaline-fueled show at Lake Ozarks follows a character (played by Jason Bateman) about a dodgy, money-making program with heartbreaking complications. It is not exactly like Outer Banks but a worthy counterpart.

The group of students on this show is similar to the Pogues – they live from a nomadic lifestyle. In The Society however, the teenagers have to solve a bigger riddle: the sudden disappearance of adults everywhere. When they try to solve the puzzle, they fall in love with each other and make friends – for better and for worse.
