Healthy Substitutions – Total Gym Pulse



Eating healthy means eating the right foods to energize your body. We all love to eat really tasty things, but sometimes certain ingredients can not make a recipe that healthy. So I made a few substitutions that I like to use to make my prescriptions healthier and debt free!

One of my substitutions is for lasagna noodles. I have tried to use zucchini, eggplants and various other vegetables instead of noodles, and in a lasagna they are too watery to be used. I tried to use egg substitute and I think my lasagna has become great! My husband did not even know he did not eat pasta. He also loves sausage in his lasagna. Who would not do that? I chose Lean Turkey instead of Italian Sausage, and again he had no idea that I was replacing his beloved pork sausage! Also, we did not feel bloated and heavy after eating such a "decadent" meal. I also like to use my turkey sausage for other recipes that would normally use sausage, and I also love it in my scrambled eggs for breakfast!

After dinner, I often get a craving for something sweet. I always try not to indulge in something like chocolate truffles, and I do not like keeping such a thing in my house! But when the desire comes, it's hard, so I had to find something that I could keep in my house, and I would not feel guilty if I would eat one or three !! If you use a healthy fat like an avocado, you really get a good mouthfeel and it is very satisfying. Not to mention the deep chocolate taste!
