I generally don’t like making my hair removal process as rational as possible. Sturdy tweezers or my trusty razor and my soap are usually all I need to get the job done. But when it comes to getting rid of my recurring collection of chin hair forever (or at least a month), few home tools can rival the satisfactory smoothness of my skin after using Glee’s face wax strips.
Aside from planning the occasional eyebrow wax, I’ve never been brave enough to test the hair removal water on any other part of my body as I’m the guy who has to find my center before he can endure the sting of a professional wax. Is anyone ever really excited about tearing the hair off their face? Even so, I was fed up with how quickly my chin hairs sprouted after it was torn off and I was ready to risk pain to get a baby smooth chin that could last for more than a week. For this year̵
One of my favorite aspects of the glee strips is how easy they are to use, even for a newbie like me. Each box contains 24 facial wax strips for actual hair removal and, as a fun bonus, 12 finishing wipes to clean and soothe sticky wax residue. The wax itself has notes of raspberries, although the scent isn’t too overwhelming for sensitive noses. The strips are basically ready to use straight out of the box. I like to run my fingers across my chin a few times to make sure that annoying hair is torn open in one fell swoop.
Each gentle yet highly effective strip has super wide ends that are the ideal size to grip with your thumb and forefinger and make removal quick and easy. I pull the skin tight under the strip, take a deep breath to prepare myself mentally, and then pull. All of this takes less than 30 seconds. I love that each strip has the same amount of wax on both sides, so I basically get two strips for the price of one. Once a single strip is pulled apart, I can get my chin from Chewbacca to the newborn in one seamless movement (and earn my money in the process, too).
The provided wipes from Glee are the perfect finishing touch and soothe the skin irritated by the wax. Now that I’m officially comfortable waxing my face (an accomplishment), I’m considering venturing into lesser known territory by collecting the branded body wax strips on my next drugstore run. I’m not quite ready for her bikini wax kit but who knows? Maybe next summer.
