Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially approved Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for this year’s election. While speaking out on racial equality issues and showing support for the Black Lives Matter movement this year, he’s not only criticized the current leadership, but also marks the first time the actor has explicitly publicly endorsed a political candidate .
Johnson announced that this morning in a post on Twitter referring to his own status as a registered independent and long-term centrist with a voting history on both sides of the political aisle, before giving strong support to Biden and Harris.
“I believe Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choices to run our country, and I support them to become President and Vice President of our United States,”

During their conversation, Johnson asked Biden and Harris how they would earn the trust and respect of the American people if they win the election.
“By doing what we say we will,” replied Biden. “By keeping our word. By measuring ourselves against the American people, by taking responsibility. If we fail, we acknowledge it. We will not be perfect, but take responsibility, say ‘that’s what I’ll do, that’s what I believe in and tell the truth. It sounds so simple. But Americans are strong, they’re tough, they can take anything if you measure up to them and tell the truth … Our administration “DJ, will look like America, it will be representative of all of America.”
