In a new YouTube video, Dr. Pimple Popper – also known as a dermatologist and TLC moderator Dr. Sandra Lee – removes a third "eyeball" buried in a patient's shoulder. The cyst is so convincing to disguise itself as an eye that you are waiting for it to blink.
In the clip, Dr. Lee made an elongated cut in growth to reach the cyst. The famous dermatologist then uses stuck tools to loosen the stuck cyst and pokes around in the patient's skin. During this part of the procedure, it looks like she is pricking an eyeball out of the socket.
After loosening, Dr. Lee collapses the cyst and pushes out a ball of compressed contents. She then works to loosen the bottom of the stubborn cyst from the patient's shoulder. After the growth is completely removed and the patient is sutured, Dr. Lee him the strange growth that was removed from his shoulder.
"Ew, that was in my shoulder?" he says.
"This is all skin that has been trapped there for years and is finally released," says Dr. Lee the patient. It seems "ew" is an appropriate response.
The cyst is probably an epidermoid cyst that contains an accumulation of moist, dead skin cells and keratin. This type of cyst can appear on the face, neck, and body.
