- Dr. Pimple Popper has a large epidermoid facial cyst in her latest Instagram video.
- An epidermoid cyst forms when the top layer of skin does not peel off and instead builds up under the cause of a bump.
- When Dr. Pimple Popper pops this cyst, it comes out like a batter.
In her latest Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper’s task is to burst a sizable cyst right next to her patient’s face. The dermatologist and TLC host – real name Dr. Sandra Lee – has no problem popping that bump, and the contents look like “batter”
The growth in question is actually an epidermoid cyst. These types of bumps form when dead skin becomes pinched and doesn’t peel off the way it should. Instead, it builds up, resulting in a non-cancerous and typically painless bump. Just like the patient’s cyst from Dr. Lee typically develop on the neck and face. But Dr. Lee is about to take it out.
Dr. Lee begins the process with a small incision across the top of the cyst explaining that she doesn’t want to leave a large scar. Once the incision is made, it will begin to compress each size of the large bump. Once she does, doughy white insides fall out and Dr. Lee has to pull it away. Dr. Lee extract all of the dead skin in the cyst.
