- In one of her latest Instagram posts, Dr. Pimple Popper put a cyst on a man's eyelid.
- The cyst is called hidrocystoma and is a benign growth that forms on a sweat gland.
- Hidrocystomas are rare and filled with a clear liquid that flows off when removed.
Dr. Pimple Popper's latest Instagram video is not for the faint-hearted (but are they videos?). While "Popaholics" – the name given to their loyal fan base – is used to oatmeal splashes and lipomas that look like chicken skin, this removal is rough for a completely different reason. Dr. Pimple Popper, also known as a dermatologist and Dr. TLC's Sandra Lee has to remove a cyst from a man's eyelid margin, and frankly that's scary.
The video begins by showing the cyst – a benign, clear, fluid-filled pustule called hidrocystma – on the edge of the patient's eyelid, just above his eyelash line. To say that it is not the place where a cyst should be removed is an understatement, but it is in Dr. Lee's capable hands.
When she begins to cut open the cyst with a small scalpel, she constantly asks the patient if he is well, worried about his pain and well-being. He assures her that he is fine and she opens the cyst. She gently squeezes out the clear liquid and holds the gauze directly under his eye to prevent the liquid from entering it.
When she is done, the video cuts a before and after picture of the patient and the result is impressive.
