In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper – also known as a dermatologist and TLC moderator Dr. Sandra Lee, MD – tackles a man's red, oily nose and pushes blackheads out at every turn. This berry-like nose seriously looks as if it is filled with seeds waiting to be exploded.

The patient shown in this video has rosacea, a skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels, often in the nose area. The condition sometimes creates small pus-filled bumps and can cause increased oil production. In the case of this patient, this increased oil production has led to blackheads in the nose.

In the clip, Dr. Lee used a comedone extractor to press the patient's nose and push out the blackheads. The growth is sticky and stubborn, which means that Dr. Lee has to put some muscle into the extractions. After all, she is able to remove a good number of blackheads, which actually makes the man's nose smaller.

A blackhead is a single pore that is filled with dead skin and oil and forms a black “head” in the air. The white mass you see in this video is actually the same material as the blackhead cap, except that this material has not been oxidized to produce a black color.
