Do you think grapefruit-sized lipomas are impressive? Try a human head. In an exclusive clip from the new spin-off series by Dr. Pimple Popper Dr. Pimple Popper: Before the PopThe dermatologist and TLC moderator Dr. Sandra Lee, MD, encounters an upper back lipoma that can keep up with the size of the patient’s head.
Dr. Lee video chat with Telly from Tucson, Arizona. This was their solution to still seeing patients while respecting COVID-19 social distancing measures. Dr. Lee looks directly at Telly from her distant point of view and is initially confused about his reason for meeting her.
“I have a feeling you are hiding something from me,”
“Well, somehow I am,” replies the patient. “Do you want to see it?”
Then Telly takes off his shirt, turns around, revealing a massive mass on his upper back. It is without a doubt one of the largest lipomas ever seen in Dr. Lee’s show performed.
“It’s about the size of my head,” Telly tells Dr. Lee. “I have a pretty big head because I’m pretty smart.”
The patient says he has had the growth in some form for 11 years. Around that time, Telly says, he was hit by a car while crossing the street. While he says the impact did not hurt and he did not suffer any noticeable injuries, the small mass appeared soon after. Although the lipoma stayed small for about two or three years, the mass eventually got larger.
A lipoma is a fat-free, non-cancerous growth that grows between the skin and muscle and is usually yellowish-orange in color. Lipomas can appear from trauma to the area.
“He’s more mobile now than before. He Is hard. It’s not soft or anything, but it’s really shaky now – never before, ”Telly tells Dr. Lee. “I think he’s starting to mature. In fact, I think he’s going to pull an exorcist and jump out screaming. “
Telly says he went to a local doctor to look into the growth, but he didn’t like the vibe he got from the doctor. Though Telly says he doesn’t like doctors in general, he trusts Dr. Lee – however, warns her that he hates needles.
“Well, you know my nickname, right? It’s painless Lee. I’m sneaking it up, “says Dr. Lee and makes the patient laugh.
Aside from jokes, Dr. Lee that Telly is at an obvious crossroads and really only has one option when it comes to his head-sized horror movie mass.
“What else would you do?” Dr. Lee says. “I feel like you’ve got to a point where you’ve decided, ‘I have to do something.'”
