In a new Instagram video, dermatologist and TLC presenter Dr. Sandra Lee, MD – also known as dr. Pimple Popper – removes an incredibly large blackhead from the back of a patient. After Dr. Lee has removed the actual black part of the blockage from the patient's clogged pore, pushing a considerable amount of white-colored sebum from the spot.
"It keeps coming back," the famous dermatologist in the video exclaims several times as he squeezes the sebum out with a comedone extractor.
Blackheads or open comedones are actually clogged pores filled with dead skin cells and oil, not dirt, as the myth suggests. Blackheads can only occur if there is both a hair follicle and a considerable pore, making the back, as in this patient, a potential site for the skin problem. The blackness of a blackhead is due to the oxidation of dead skin cells and oil when exposed to air. The white matter seen in this extraction actually consists of the same mixture of dead skin and oil as the black colored part of the blackheads ̵
Even when it comes to skin problems Not visible to the patient, such as a blackhead on the back, it can still cause discomfort and discomfort. And this patient is certainly grateful that Dr. Lee's skilled hand extracted his big, annoying blackheads.
"I feel better," says the patient at the end of the video.
