While most of us spent the Labor Day weekend eating, shopping, and / or drinking, retired NFL star DeMarcus Ware spent the holidays in the gym. Ware has later posted a video of his back training online and aptly referred to as "Backcrusher".
Ware has also shared some motivational words that will get you going after the long weekend. "For a long time, I considered it a negative thing to be different," Ware wrote. "But as I got older, I realized we were all born to stand out, no one was born to integrate, stay true to yourself, and have your own back."
Men's Health Fitness director Ebenezer Samuel, CSCS explained how you can do the back training of goods yourself:
- "The first exercise [a bent over med ball raise] is deceptive," explains Samuel. "It seems a bit like a frontal riser, but you actually get your rotator cuff muscles to fire rhomboids, lower lats, and lower traps ̵
- " Ware then follows with a series motion that is perfect, hold your abs tight as you do so, and watch DeMarcus here as well "Headgear – he looks down at the floor and keeps his neck and spine in a nice, safe, neutral position, using dumbbells or kettlebells," Samuel continues.
- "DeMarcus ends with the One-armed Latzug, that's as easy or as hard as you do," says Samuel. "Concentrate on straightening your hips and tightening your abdominal muscles as you pull down, then squeeze properly each time."
- Samuel also explained why he loves the overall construction of Wares Training: "These first two movements make sure that your rhomboids and scapular retraction muscles are tense and ready for action, and then it moves to vertical traction, an ideal"  Temi Adebowale
