While the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has stopped the cadence of everyday life for almost everyone, the world is now starting to adapt. We all deal differently with the challenges of social distancing and self-isolation – but that doesn’t mean we have to go it alone in every way.

At the Men healthWe use this time as an opportunity to build our community and share as much useful and positive information as possible. For anyone who misses their typical closed gym and fitness center workout routines, we’ve done our best to offer as many workout options as possible at home. But this is just the beginning. We also host live workouts on Instagram with some of our favorite coaches to fill the fitness class void in your everyday life.

Bobby Maximus, former UFC fighter, fitness personality and author of the Men’s health Maximus body Book, hosted the final session. Maximus makes it a point to train without equipment, even when a fully equipped gym is available. Therefore, creating an accessible session for men stuck at home with no access to equipment fits perfectly with his training style.

This fast-pounding, high-rep, lower-body session is no different from any of Maximus’ other training methods. So get ready for work. You will use your work capacity to the maximum for only 15 minutes. Even though you only work a quarter of an hour, it will probably be the hardest thing you do all week.

You do three 5-minute laps with 1-minute rest periods in between. Unlike other workouts, this is a competition. Your opponent? The watch – and yourself. “I’m into this thing where engagement is binary,” says Maximus. “It’s zero or one, you’re committed or not. Too often people show up in training and don’t try so hard and go through the moves. Today I want you to really put pressure on.”

To win a round, you must do the specified number of reps before time runs out. Just make sure you don’t squeeze in front of your shape to achieve your goal.
