A hiatal hernia is a type of hernia in which the upper part of the stomach moves through the diaphragm and up into the thoracic region. The diaphragm contracts continuously during inhalation and exhalation. It lies between stomach and chest. Today we will discuss how yoga breathing techniques or pranayama can help alleviate the serious consequences of hiatal hernias. Yoga research has shown that breathing exercises are therapeutically effective. The ancient yoga philosophy regards breathing as a fundamental tool to improve well-being and treat many diseases.
There are certain yoga breathing techniques that may be helpful in hiatal hernia:
Kapalbhati is a good respiratory crane for most diseases that it heals very well, but in hiatal hernias Kapalbhati should be different become. Normally, we push and pull our stomach or stretch and pull our stomach together quickly and vigorously, which is beneficial to the body. However, in a hiatal hernia syndrome, getting spots on your stomach or in your chest is risky. So get ready for the right technique In a comfortable pose, take Sukhasana, Padmasana, Ardha Padmasana, Vajrayana, or on the chair while Kapalbhati slowly inhales Pranayama through his nose. Do not dilate your chest and stomach too much, and then breathe continuously with a short and steady exhalation. Remember, do not breathe heavily and do not allow the abdominal muscles to relax too quickly. Stretch and tighten. Sit comfortably in the Ujjayi Pranayama and inhale slowly through your nose. Normally, with Ujjayi Pranayama, the breathing technique should be fast in order to increase the metabolism and the heat in the body and to achieve a strong and fast movement in the chest and abdomen. This is a basis for pranayama breathing practice. For abdominal breathing, the focus should be on the movement of the stomach in and out. Sit in an attitude like Padmasan, Ardha Padmasana, Vajrasana or take Savasana. Do not overstretch the stomach. Just watch your breath and the movement of the stomach. The right way to breathe is when you inhale. Get the stomach out and exhale the stomach clean. It is also called diaphragmatic breathing, breathing is done by contracting the diaphragm. Do not hold your breath too tightly in your stomach area. Avoid shocks throughout the operation. It should be smooth, continuous and relaxing.
This is just like abdominal breathing, it can also be said that the chest breathes deeply. In this exercise, as you inhale and exhale, you only expand and contract your chest. The air flows slowly and continuously through both nostrils. Now there is no movement in the stomach to avoid bulging. Practice this first lie in Shavasana and relax your body.
