To be honest, you do not need to go hungry to cleanse the body of the toxins that have formed in it for decades. It's good for you that your kidneys and your liver do the work for you – to cleanse your body. However, it is vital that you eat foods that detoxify your body and help you stay healthy.

Lemon water

Start your day with a glass of lemon water and make sure to drink at least 8 glasses throughout the day. Lemon alkalises the body and improves digestion, helps detoxify the liver and reduces bloating. It helps your liver cleanse the system of the toxins.

Pineapple

Pineapple is rich in bromelain, which contributes to the breakdown of proteins and their digestion. It also reduces inflammation, which further helps a person with arthritis and leads to a speedy recovery. It also helps to improve bone health.

Bromelain, found in pineapple, has been shown to prevent coronary heart disease, blood pressure problems, heart failure, and other heart problems.

Turmeric

The bright orange spice commonly found in Indian cuisine is a great source for improving blood circulation and reducing inflammation. Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, has anti-inflammatory properties that help people with digestive problems. The liver efficiently processes metabolic wastes and toxins when a person consumes turmeric daily.

Cranberry juice

Various studies have shown that unsweetened cranberry juice reduces urinary tract infections, the risk of kidney stones, cardiovascular disease and cancer. It also helps to flush out toxins from the kidneys and intestines. It is a rich source of antioxidants that can support and promote the natural process of detoxification. Drink some cranberry juice if you feel that something is wrong inside.

Almonds
