25 easy ways to make more steps on your day

So you've heard it a million times: Go more! Go for 10,000 steps a day! However, climbing stairs instead of the elevator only takes you so far. Steal some of these fresh tips to increase your mileage.

. 1 Walk through the room while waiting in the doctor's office.

. 2 Buy food? Take an extra tour of the edge corridors before you check out.

. 3 Use the toilet one level lower (or higher) at work instead of approaching the hall.

. 4 Ditto with your coffee.

. 5 Hide the remote, so you actually have to get up to change the channel. Turn off the TV.

. 6 Instead of fighting other drivers for this open space near the door, do your blood pressure a favor and park a few rows away.

. 7 Walk around the block while your child takes dancing classes / plays football or whatever.

. 8 Get off a stop early from the bus or subway.
